Kylie Plunkett - Physiotherapist
Kylie is a principal owner of Ararat Physiotherapy & Health Services
Kylie has been a practicing physiotherapist for over 20 years. After graduating from La Trobe University, Melbourne she commenced working in both Geelong Hospital and private practice, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation. She worked as a regular treating physiotherapist for members of the Geelong Football Club and the Geelong Supercats and during this time was awarded a Fellowship to the University of Melbourne for service and commitment to the education of undergraduate physiotherapists.
Jess Tucker - Physiotherapist
Jess is also a principal owner of APHS.
Jess has been a practicing physiotherapist for over a decade after graduating from La Trobe University, Melbourne and commenced working in private practice in a large regional centre, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation. She quickly developed a reputation for her skill, treating many aspiring sportspeople. This lead on to her becoming a course presenter for the Sports Trainer course, providing education seminars to GP's and working with the rural city council providing occupational health services.
TJ Deshmukh - Physiotherapist
Tejaswini (TJ) is a physiotherapist specializing in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
TJ graduated from India with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy. She then relocated to Australia to complete her Master’s Degree in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2014.
Xiao Hui Teo - Physiotherapist
Xiao Hui has a passion for helping others to function at their best, whether that be an athlete returning to the sporting fields or the elderly maintaining independence. This comes across with Xiao Hui’s exceptional ability to listen to your needs, assess your area of injury and provide effective treatment and advice whilst giving you clear understanding of your expected recovery plan.
Lisa Haddow - Exercise Physiologist
Lisa has practiced as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist for the past 5 years. After graduating from the University of Ballarat in 2011, she has worked locally specializing in exercise therapy for chronic health conditions, musculoskeletal injuries and health promotion. Lisa is actively involved in local sporting clubs and has a sound knowledge of our community’s health needs. A practicing Pilates instructor since 2013, she is experienced in conducting Pilates mat classes, aquatic therapy classes, strength training and general fitness classes.
Lisa can design you an exercise program post surgery, following injury, to maximize sporting performance or for workplace fitness and injury prevention.
Simon Lewis - Personal Trainer
Simon has been teaching, coaching and helping people achieve their health and fitness goals since 2010. Over that time he has worked with busy mums, elite athletes, stressed teens and everything in between. Simon graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (Honours) in 2014 and moved to the Grampians area the following year, teaching at Stawell Secondary College. He then returned to personal training in 2016, completing certifications in boxing and kettlebell training. Simon is currently studying Physiotherapy at ACU Ballarat.
Abbie Cameron - Massage Therapist
Abbie obtained her Diploma of remedial massage in 2015, completing additional specialised training in Pregnancy massage and Trigger Point therapy. She practises in relaxation massage, deep tissue therapy and sports treatment and recovery. Abbie has been a vital part of the SMW Rover's (Mininera Football Netball League) training team in the 2016 and 2017 football seasons. She likes to treat a broad range of client cases to keep expanding her knowledge and experience in the remedial massage industry and to provide individual, targeted treatment to every client.
Emily Toner - Practice Manager
Emily is the friendly face that greets you at the front desk! She is an essential and highly valued part of the team at Ararat Physiotherapy and Health Services. With more than 7 years experience working in medical and physiotherapy clinics she is always helpful and understanding of your individual needs.
Emily is a strong member of the local community and when she is not working, is kept busy with her 4 children and husband, Jamie.
Izzie is another of the friendly faces behind the desk, aiding the smooth running of the practice. After over 5 years of volunteer work, and 3 years of experience in hospitality, she is fully equipped to kindly ‘cater’ to your individual needs. After finishing year 12 in 2016, when she’s not behind the desk, she keeps busy as a barista and drum teacher, bringing good music, coffee, and a happy smile to people across Western Victoria!
Ashby Green is another of our friendly and professional reception staff. She is an Ararat local, born and raised. In addition to working at Ararat Physiotherapy & Health Services, Ashby is studying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Deakin University.
She also has a passion for history, particularly the 16th Century England. In 2015. Ashby has obtained her black-belt in South-East Australian Taekwondo. We joke that Ashby is our security!
Ashby has an interest in yoga and has been practises both at home and in the classes here at our clinic.
